ADULT BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU

AGES 15+

Our Adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program is designed for all experience levels, from complete beginners to advanced practitioners. We offer training in both Gi and No-Gi, allowing students to develop a well-rounded and adaptable grappling skill set.

Gi classes emphasise control, grip-based techniques, and technical precision, while No-Gi classes focus on movement, balance, and faster-paced exchanges.

Beginners start with a structured BJJ Fundamentals pathway, learning core positions, escapes, submissions, and safety principles in a supportive environment. Classes are progressive and methodical, ensuring students build confidence and competence over time. Whether your goal is fitness, self-defence, or technical mastery, the program provides a clear and sustainable path for long-term development.

Our Adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program is built on a culture of respect, safety, and continuous improvement. We foster an inclusive environment where beginners and experienced practitioners train together, support each other, and grow at their own pace. Training is challenging but controlled, with a strong emphasis on tapping early, looking after training partners, and leaving ego at the door.

Competition Pathway
Competition is completely optional and available to students who are interested and ready. We provide structured preparation, rule-set education, and coaching support for both Gi and No-Gi competitions. The focus is on safety, personal development, and sportsmanship, ensuring competition remains a positive and rewarding experience.

Program Goals:

  • Build strong technical foundations in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

  • Improve fitness, mobility, and body awareness

  • Develop problem-solving skills and mental resilience

  • Build confidence and self-discipline on and off the mats

  • Create a supportive, respectful training environment

  • No experience is required. Our Fundamentals classes are designed specifically for beginners. Coaches guide you through techniques step by step in a safe, supportive environment.

  • Gi training uses the traditional uniform and focuses on grips, control, and technical precision. No-Gi training is faster paced and relies more on movement, balance, and body positioning. Both styles complement each other and are included in the program.

  • You do not need to be fit to start. Training naturally improves strength, mobility, and cardio over time. Sessions can be scaled to suit your ability and pace.

  • No. Adults of all ages train in our program. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is adaptable and can be modified to suit different bodies and experience levels.

  • For Gi classes, a Gi is required, but many beginners start with a trial uniform - WE CAN LEND YOU A GI TO START. For No-Gi classes, a rash guard OR SPORTS TOP and shorts or leggings are recommended. Our team can advise on the best options.

  • NO, YOU HAVE ACCESS TO ALL ADULT CLASSES ON THE TIMETABLE ON A MEMBERSHIP - WE DO RECOMMEND STARTING IN THESE CLASSES IF YOU ARE NEW TO JIU JITSU.
